Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Guanajuato River Valley, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 to 300 BCE. An oh so sweet and petite redware, round-bottomed face vessel presenting coffee bean shaped eyes, a pointy upturned nose, and pursed but slightly parted lips – as if whistling – on one side, and tiny looped handles bridging raised rim to shoulders, all covered in that saturated red glaze characteristic of the Chupicuaro. Size: 2.125″ in diameter x 1.75″ H (5.4 cm x 4.4 cm)

Condition: Chips to rim and one handle possibly repaired.
