Europe or North America, ca. 19th century CE. A collection of five brass signal cannons of different sizes and styles, each functional, and each displayed upon a nice custom dark wood stand. None has a maker’s mark. They appear to have been made as a set. Size of largest cannon: 7.1″ L x 2.4″ W (18 cm x 6.1 cm); size of complete item with all cannons properly displayed: 9″ L x 7.4″ W x 4.05″ H (22.9 cm x 18.8 cm x 10.3 cm)
Condition: Some small dings and dents to the brass forms. Each has dark patina. The wood surface also has some small dings and dents, with a slight loss at the lower center.
Provenance: private Los Angeles County, California, USA collection, acquired by descent from the owner’s father, collection amassed between 1950-1990
