Ancient Near East/the Levant, Canaan, Middle Bronze Age II, ca. 1900 to 1550 BCE. A flat cast, bronze blade from a dagger or short sword, with two rivets just below the tang for attachment to a handle in the classic Canaanite style. This example has a pronounced, flat mid rib and tapers to a nice point, with a fascinating mottled surface composed of turquoise and light green patina with white and silvery-colored deposits. Size: 2.2″ W x 15.35″ H (5.6 cm x 39 cm)
Condition: Small losses from blade edges, but generally in very nice condition, with a clear form and a mottled surface composed of turquoise and light green patina with white and silvery-colored deposits.
