Middle East, Islamic World, ca. 19th century CE. A beautiful carnelian intaglio cabochon with Islamic letters inscribed in its flat face. Dark pigment fills in the letters, making them stand out to the viewer. Could easily be set into a ring or made into a pendant. Size: 0.7″ W (1.8 cm)

Condition: Light patina. Excellent preservation of details.
