Ancient Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Late Dynastic Period, 11th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 2050 to 332 BCE. An ovoid mold-formed amulet of crimson-hued paste glass depicting the hieroglyph for a heart. The heart hieroglyph consists of a teardrop-shaped jar with lug handles on either side and a cross-shaped handled lid.
