Roman Glass Pouring Vessel - Gorgeous Blue



Rome, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A brilliantly blue, free-blown glass jug/flask with a spherical body on a round foot, a tapering tubular neck resolving to a splayed lip and thickened rim, and an elaborate, substantive strap handle bridging the upper neck to shoulder. Stunning areas of silvery, golden, and rainbow iridescence. Size: 2.75" W x 5.375" H (7 cm x 13.7 cm)

Condition: Repaired with some visible fissures; body possibly not belonging to spout/handle and foot, but indeed ancient and very rare in color.
