East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. late 19th century CE. A large porcelain basin lavishly decorated in famille rose enamels, featuring low-relief textural grounds enlivened with flowering branches, scrolling cloud bands, and lively birds including pheasants, all framed by bold cobalt-blue borders and gilt accents around the rim. The underside bears a red character mark associated with the Tongzhi era, and the impressive scale and colorful surface make it a striking display piece for collectors of late Qing export porcelain. Size: 15.75″ Diameter x 5″ H (40 cm x 12.7 cm); gold quality: 22% to 37% (equivalent to 5K+ to 8K+)

Condition: Due to high lead content, this is not recommended for food use. Intact and excellent. Some minor rubbing and fading to pigments.
