East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A porcelain famille rose figure of Guanyin, glazed and enamel painted in bright pastel hues, depicted seated in flowing robes adorned with floral, butterfly, and bamboo motifs. The serene bodhisattva holds a small vase in one hand, her downcast eyes and composed expression conveying compassion, while necklace, ribbons, and a draped hood are accented in turquoise, red, yellow, and cobalt tones. The figure rests on a removable carved wood base. Size: 6.5″ L x 5.25″ W x 12.2″ H (16.5 cm x 13.3 cm x 31 cm); 13″ H (33 cm) on included custom stand.
Condition: Loss to finger on right hand. Fading / patchy white coloration to hands. Some fading and scratches to pigments. Firing and glazing imperfections. Stable without any repairs. Comes with a removable wood base.
