Northern Africa, Sahara Desert, Neolithic period, ca. 10,000 to 6000 BCE. A group of three knapped stone blades, likely intended for handheld cutting and scraping tasks. Each tool is worked from creamy gray chert with visible flake scars and sharpened edges that reflect skilled stoneworking techniques. These utilitarian implements relate to daily life in the ancient Sahara during the Neolithic Subpluvial, a period when the region experienced wetter conditions and supported grasslands, lakes, and thriving hunter-gatherer communities. Size: 5.75″ L x 2.5″ W (14.6 cm x 6.4 cm)
Condition: Chips and nicks to the peripheries, otherwise intact. Smooth textures throughout.
