North America, United States, Classical Revival / Art Deco, ca. 1930s to 1940s CE. A beautiful pair of copper candlesticks with forest green and vermilion colored enamel, each elaborately decorated with 4 sphinx-form legs, as well as reliefs of cherubs, garlands, and acanthus leaves. Size (both the same): 5.8″ W x 9″ H (14.7 cm x 22.9 cm)

Condition: Indentation to rim of one. Both have nicks, abrasions, and softening of finer details. Otherwise, both are intact with rich patina and nice remaining enamel.

Provenance: ex-private Bishop Family Trust collection, the Trust of the late Bill Bishop, a noted antiquarian with shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado, USA, acquired before 2010
