United States, ca. mid-20th century CE. A collection of five hand-painted wooden model airplanes representing World War I and II military aircraft. The group includes larger multi-engine bombers and smaller fighter planes, detailed with period insignia, cockpit windows, and painted camouflage schemes. Offered as display pieces with visible age wear that adds to their vintage character. Size: 18.25″ L x 11″ W (46.4 cm x 27.9 cm)
Condition: Repairs and losses present. Wings and fins have been reattached on the two larger planes. Several metal propellers are missing. Surface chips, abrasions, stains, and areas of discoloration throughout.
Provenance: ex-private collection, Fairhaven, Massachusetts, USA, collected from 1980 to 2010
