Far east, China, ca. 2nd half 20th century CE. A carved nephrite jade bi disc of classic circular form, the pale celadon stone displaying soft translucency and natural clouding. One face is decorated with an allover field of finely incised spiral motifs, arranged in orderly registers across the surface, framing a central aperture. The reverse plain or minimally worked, consistent with traditional bi disc production. A pleasing example of a timeless Chinese ritual form, suitable for display. Size: 3.0625″ W x .25″ H (7.8 cm x 0.6 cm)

This has been tested using XRF technology and is confirmed to be nephrite jade.

Condition: Minor chips to inner and outer rims else excellent.
