East Asia, China / Tibet, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A sterling silver pendant set with a carved green stone plaque depicting the Buddhist auspicious pair of fish rising from a lotus in low relief, enclosed within a closely fitted silver bezel and crowned by a goat or deer in motion. Suspended from a modern brass chain and wearable. Size of pendant: 3.25″ L x 2″ W (8.3 cm x 5.1 cm); silver quality: 97%; weight: 48 grams; chain: 18″ L (45.7 cm)

Condition: Chip and small loss to stone. Mineral encrustations. Scratches and nicks to silver, with dark patina and toning. Chain is modern. Wearable!

Provenance: private Thornton, Colorado, USA collection acquired in Hawaii. Ex Kona, HI resident who traveled S. E. Asia in the 1960’s
