Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture to Maya, ca. 600 BCE to 900 CE. This group of 26 ancient beads is carved from jadeite and greenstone, showing a range of rounded and tubular forms in soft, mottled green hues. The beads are graduated in size and currently gathered on a simple modern thread for study and display rather than wear. They can be easily restrung to create a wearable necklace or incorporated into a custom jewelry design. Size of largest bead: 1″ L x 0.5″ W (2.5 cm x 1.3 cm); strand: 9″ L (22.9 cm)
Condition: Chips and abrasions, but otherwise great stable conditions. Strung on a thread and not wearable due to cord length, can easily be restrung as one desires.
