Western Europe, France, Jurassic period, ca. 201 to 143 million years ago. A monumental ammonite cluster presented in a sculptural stone matrix, skillfully cut to create a dynamic vertical composition of three spiral shells rising in a stacked formation. Each ammonite displays tightly coiled chambers with pronounced ribbing and earthy mineral tones ranging from deep brown to warm russet, contrasted against the paler stone ground. Size: 12″ L x 4.5″ W x 13.5″ H (30.5 cm x 11.4 cm x 34.3 cm)
Condition: Professionally prepared and cut. Overall excellent condition with strong preservation of shell detail and ribbing. Losses to exterior layers of shell on largest. Minor surface wear and natural fissures to the limestone matrix commensurate with age and fossilization.
