North America / Siberia, Pliocene to Pleistocene period, ca. 2.6 million to 10,000 years ago. A group of mammoth molar fragments displaying the characteristic layered enamel plates and ridged grinding surfaces that defined these Ice Age giants. Two of the smaller pieces have been polished on several faces, highlighting the intricate banding and internal structure of the fossilized tooth. Size of largest: 6″ L x 3″ W x 3″ H (15.2 cm x 7.6 cm x 7.6 cm)
Condition: Old losses and fissures as shown. Clear coating to the surface of largest. Two smallest pieces are cut and polished.
