Australia, & North America, ca. millions of years ago. A collection of natural history specimens including two raw opal pieces housed in a glass viewing jar, the white quartz matrix showing opalized areas that reveal greater clarity and color when submerged in water. Also included are three stone matrices preserving fossilized fern fronds with clearly visible leaf structures impressed into the sedimentary rock. Completing the group is a theropod dinosaur tooth fragment from the Hell Creek Formation, in a small display box. Size of largest fern matrix: 2.75″ L x 1.8″ W (7 cm x 4.6 cm)
Condition: Dinosaur tooth, and fern fossils are fragmentary, with losses as shown. Opals are raw and come in a removable glass jar.
