Western Europe, France, Paleolithic, Acheulean period, ca. 1,000,000 to 200,000 years ago. A substantial Acheulean flint tool knapped from a thick nodule, retaining broad areas of natural cortex alongside deliberate flake removals. Acheulean tools such as this represent one of the earliest sustained technological traditions in human history, reflecting both functional efficiency and an emerging understanding of form. Size: 3.3″ L x 2.5″ W (8.4 cm x 6.4 cm)
