Near East, Roman-Greek cultures / Parthian ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A hammered copper-silver jar with a rounded, globular body, gently tapering neck, and slightly flared rim, its surface bearing heavy burial encrustation and a mottled green-gray patina from long-term age and use. This is a fine 29% to 47% silver copper-alloy vessel, that combines durability with high intrinsic value, suggesting it may have been used for precious contents or in a ritual or elite setting. Size: 6″ W x 7.75″ H (15.2 cm x 19.7 cm); silver quality: 29% to 47%; weight: 331.4 grams

Condition: Repaired and restored, base reattached with new material sand and grit added to surface to obscure breaklines. Heavy patina and mineral encrustations throughout. Chips and fissures to rim.
