South Africa, ca. mid-20th century CE. An assorted group of forty-nine lead miniature figures in approximately 32 mm scale, depicting Native American warriors, British Red Coat soldiers, American Colonial soldiers, and WWI-era troops including parachutists, accompanied by three small animal figures. Many examples are stamped to the base “UNION OF S. AFRICA,” and were produced by the company Swedish African Engineers (SAE), based in South Africa. Size: 0.5″ W x 1.3″ H (1.3 cm x 3.3 cm)

Condition: Losses and bending to lead figurines, but most are intact and good condition. Stamped on the bases. Comes in a vintage wood cigar box.

Provenance: ex-private collection, Fairhaven, Massachusetts, USA, collected from 2010 to 2015
