East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A finely rendered group of four Qing dynasty painted and gilt wood figures, including a commanding red-robed attendant and three smaller robed figures, likely representing ancestral spirits or attendant deities within a domestic or temple shrine context. Size of largest (red figure): 3.6″ W x 5.6″ H (9.1 cm x 14.2 cm)
Condition: Repair to arm of red figure with break lines visible. Figure in green robe has removable base. Nicks, chips, small losses, and abrasions throughout. Nice remaining pigments and detail with scattered patinas to surfaces.
Provenance: private Thousand Oaks, California, USA collection, acquired 1970s to 2000s
