Carved from wood and adorned with layers of rich gilt and lacquer, the figure radiates a gentle, golden light. Seated in the lotus position, with her hands resting in the dhyana mudra, Guanyin’s tranquil expression and graceful posture speak of boundless mercy and wisdom. Condition: Some small chips to crown and edges of robe with stable fissure to lower right. Weathering and abrasions to surface commensurate with age, but otherwise, intact with a nice presentation and liberal remains of gilding and detail. Light patina to surface. Adhered to custom stand.
