Classical World, Phoenician (ca. mid 1st century BCE) (1 bead total) and Roman (ca. 1st to 3rd century CE) (all other beads). A beautiful collection of ancient Roman beads (56 total) around a single Phoenician black and white paste glass bead pendant, all arranged on a modern stringing with modern gold-plated findings. There are eight carnelian beads, twenty blue glass beads, and the remaining other beads are glass beads with either gold or silver sheet inside of them. A gorgeous collection that gives you an idea of the kind of ornamentation that the ancient Romans would have worn. Length of strand: 18.5" L (47 cm); size of Phoenician bead: 0.45" W (1.1 cm)

Condition: Ancient beads on a modern stringing. Three of the glass beads have some losses, mainly one of the larger blue beads. Pretty patina on all of the glass beads, some of it pearlescent.
