Greek Hellenistic Gold Earrings w/ Lion Heads, 5.0 g

Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 1st century BCE. A lovely pair of earrings comprised of 83% gold (equivalent to 18K+ gold) with thin pins and thick pin bodies wrapped with thin gold wire. The main body of each earring depicts a stylized lion head with flowing manes, cupped ears, short snouts, and conical bodies adorned with gold filigree. A modern gold shepherd's hook is twisted atop the original suspension pin making this a wearable pair of gorgeous ancient earrings! Size of each (both are relatively similar): 0.6" W x 0.625" H (1.5 cm x 1.6 cm); quality of gold: 83% (equivalent to 18K+); total weight: 5.0 grams.

Condition: Wearable as shown. Gold earrings are ancient, and shepherd's hooks are modern. Slight bending to overall forms, minor indentations, and softening to some finer details, otherwise intact and excellent. Light earthen deposits within some recessed areas.
