The sestertius was an ancient Roman coin. During the Roman Republic it was small, struck in silver, and issued only on rare occasions. During the Roman Empire it was a large bronze coin as is this example of Nero. Coins of Nero are highly regarded and sought after, no doubt for his legacy and notoriety.
