12th C. Majapahit Necklace w/ 48 Beautiful Glass Beads!

Ancient Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Java, Majapahit, ca. 12th to 14th century CE. An attractive strand of 48 beautiful Majapahit glass beads, the majority of roughly spherical forms with some boasting flattened sides or oblong shapes. The glass beads present a palette of green, yellow, and blue hues, with some containing streaks of different colors throughout their composition. Each bead has a central piercing which allows for suspension, making this necklace a wearable example in which ancient art meets modern style! Size (necklace): 25.25" L (64.1 cm); size (largest bead): 0.875" W (2.2 cm).

Condition: Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Glass beads are ancient, and stringing is modern. Minor nicks and small pitting holes to surfaces of some beads, with light encrustations. Light iridescence on some beads.
