20th C. Inuit Soapstone Seal - Signed Joeley Siakuluk

Native American/First Nations, Canada, Inuit culture, signed by Joeley Siakuluk (sometimes Jolie Siakuluk, active now), ca. late 20th century CE. A beautiful mottled grey and black soapstone seal, carved as if resting on the ice, its body slightly raised at the neck. Signed on the underside by the artist. Size: 6" W x 2.2" H (15.2 cm x 5.6 cm)

Condition: Nose is scratched; otherwise in nice condition with light signs of wear commensurate with age. Signature incised on underside.
