Asia Minor, Caria, Satraps of Pixodaros, 340 BCE to 334 BCE. OBVERSE: Laureated head of Apollo facing slightly right. REVERSE: Zeus Labraundos to right with double axe. Greek inscription to right. This important and beautiful coin features a beautifully stylized portrait of Apollo, the Roman god often associated with medicine and healing.
