Mid 20th C. Chinese Amber Prayer Beads

East Asia, China, ca. mid 20th century CE. A lovely strand of spherical amber beads set along a modern yellow thread. One-hundred-and-eight beads are set along the main necklace strand and are used to recite Buddhist prayers. A small orange anchor bead is situated at the bottom of the center with two dangling tassels each holding three additional beads. A beautiful set! Size (necklace): 24" L (61 cm); size (largest bead): 0.2" Diameter (0.5 cm).

Condition: Light surface wear commensurate with age, otherwise intact and very good.

Provenance: private Missouri, USA collection, acquired 1965 - 1970s
