Wearable Bactrian Glass / Agate Beaded Necklace

Central / Western Asia, Bactrian Empire, ca. 1st millennium BCE. A lovely necklace with an attractive, balanced design comprised of dozens of glass beads and a stunning oval agate pendant. The strand includes 14 larger translucent glass beads of rounded forms and hues ranging from amber to golden yellow to colorless, alternating with 16 groups of smaller glass beads - each group containing about 4-5 beads making for about 70 beads - these presenting hues of blue, green, and white - several with nice iridescence - all flanking the large agate pendant of caramel brown, white, and cream hues. All beads are ancient, strung in modern times, and fastened with a gold-tone clasp. Beautiful and ready to wear! Size: 19" L (48.3 cm) + 1.375" L x 1" W (3.5 cm x 2.5 cm) agate pendant

Condition: Agate pendant has natural divots and inclusions. Glass beads show normal wear commensurate with age and a few minor nicks. Strung in modern times with modern clasp. All beads are ancient.
