Australian Aboriginal Wooden Throwing Stick - Ca. 1920

Australia, Aboriginal, ca. 1st quarter of the 20th century CE. Interesting weapon and hunting device akin to the more well-known boomerang. Curved wooden stick with flared head designed to be thrown at the enemy or the prey. Nice grooved sides - a sign that this is not a recent tourist piece. Sadly, when thrown, this one does not come back! Size: 24.5" L (62.2 cm)

Condition: Minor nicks along edges else excellent

Provenance: private Rochester, MI collection
