Early 20th C. West African Bronze Fertility Necklace

West Africa, probably Benin, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A collection of dozens of "bronze" (actually brass) beads, most diamond-shaped with a few cylindrical, on a braided strand. Hanging from the center of the necklace is a long, curved phallus, also made of brass. Length of strand: 25" L (63.5 cm); size of amulet: 2.75" H (7 cm)

Condition: Patina on surface; some casting flaws on a few of the beads.
