We have been delighted to offer artworks by masters such as Michelangelo, Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Mark Tobey, William Draper, Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Peter Max, Yaacov Agam, Albert Bierstadt, Joseph Henry Sharp, John James Audubon, Basilius Besler, Edward Curtis, Eadweard Muybridge, Andre Kertesz, Graciela Iturbide, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siquieros, Jean Charlot, Rafael Ferrer, Rufino Tamayo, William Spratling, Maria Martinez, Betty Gold, Nano Lopez, Felipe Archuleta, Reuben Nakian, and more since creating this department. What’s more, auction hammers have been very impressive, with many pieces more than doubling their reserves.
Heading up our Fine & Visual Arts Department is Sydelle Rubin-Dienstfrey who has been with Artemis Gallery since 2013 and previously served as Manager of Research and Writing. Sydelle completed her undergraduate degree at Harvard University and her Ph.D. in Art History at Boston University where she was a Presidential Scholar. Sydelle has received numerous academic honors including the prestigious Henry Luce Foundation ACLS Dissertation Fellowship in American Art, presented papers at several international conferences, and published in journals, books, and catalogues. In addition, Sydelle has taught at various academic institutions including Boston University and University of Colorado, Boulder. Her experience also extends to the museum world, with positions at The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Jewish Museum, The Fogg Art Museum, the Mizel Museum, the Addison Gallery of American Art, and the Denver Art Museum.
Artemis Gallery’s Fine & Visual Arts Department is currently accepting consignments of all mediums and genres. Sydelle would be happy to evaluate works in your collection and answer any questions you may have. Consignors will benefit from our international outreach – selling thousands of items to 6 continents, more than 75 countries – with a customer base which numbers in the tens of thousands. Furthermore, the Owners / Executive Directors have considerable business expertise and Artemis Gallery invests heavily in online advertising, marketing, and public relations which guarantees maximum exposure for your items. Finally, Artemis Gallery’s consignment rates are significantly more competitive than those of retail galleries.
