19th C. African Wooden Carving of Antelope, ex-Arnovick

West Africa, ca. 19th century CE. An old wood carved figurine on an integral stand, depicting a graceful antelope with long legs, a short tail tucked under his bum, and an overall lovely form. Wonderful patina! Size: 4.75" L x 6.25" H (12.1 cm x 15.9 cm)

Condition: Missing horns. Chip and smaller nicks to head. Chip to base as shown. Very nice patina!

Provenance: Ex-private Peter Arnovick collection, Los Altos, CA. Mr. Arnovick was a collector and dealer of ancient and ethnographic cultures.
