Pretty 10th C. Medieval Silver Earrings (pr)

Sold

Europe, likely ca. 10th to 12th century CE. This is a pair of fine silver earrings with filigree cross designs in their disc-shaped centers, ringed by tiny round hollow balls. The style of earring resembles those found in medieval graves in Croatia; similar earrings appear in Viking-influenced Poland. Given the fluid movement of items – especially those made from precious metals – during this time period, they could have traveled far and wide throughout the medieval world. Size of each: 0.8″ W (2 cm)

Condition: Slight bending to hooks; wearable.

Provenance: Ex – Private LA County collection
