Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century. A petite mold-made pottery vessel with a flat ring base, rounded shoulders, small tab handle, large fill hole surrounded by three concentric rings, and a raised palm leaf motif in the channel leading to a flared wick spout. Two raised lines flank either side of the wick spout, two matching incised lines run beneath the spout, and an abstract palm leaf motif is stamped into the base. Size: 3.5″ L x 2.25″ W x .875″ H (8.9 cm x 5.7 cm x 2.2 cm)

Condition: Surface wear and chips commensurate with age, and minor char marks to wick spout. Nice mineral deposits.

Provenance: private Orange County, California collection, acquired before 2000
