Macedon, under Roman rule, ca. after 168 BCE. AR tetradrachm diademed head of Artemis right with quiver over shoulder in the center of a Macedonian shield; shield decorated with seven eight-pointed stars within double crescents/Club of Herakles all within an oak wreath, thunderbolt to left. Size: 1.1″ W (3 cm); 11.3 grams.

Artemis (Diana), goddess of the hunt, was one of the most widely venerated Classical deities, and is often depicted as she is here as a beautiful, athletic woman with a quiver and arrows slung over her shoulder.
