Latin America, Mexico, ca. 19th century CE. A finely carved and polychromed wooden santo donning a long golden alb delineated with copious folds that flow to his feet and a darker hooded cape with red undertones draped over one shoulder. His gaunt face which is framed by a near-shoulder length coiffure presents dramatic features including deeply set eyes and a pointy nose, a black mustache and goatee. His right hand gestures towards his forward stepping rightfoot. Mounted to rectangular wooden base. Size: 6.75″ H (17.1 cm)

Condition: Missing left foot and arm. Surface wear and paint loss as shown.
