Ancient Greece, Hellenistic period, Seleucid Kingdom (modern day Turkey, Middle East, and parts of Asia) ca. 312to 63 BCE. Cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) process, a wonderful bronze attachment depicting a horned animal in an abstract style with dramatically curved horns, large round eyes, and a pointy snout, a lithe body with front legs delineated, perhaps in a jumping posture, an integral loop joining neck to back and a protruding knob under the rear end. Marvelous green patina. Size: 3.25″ L x 3.375″ H (8.3 cm x 8.6 cm)

Condition: Intact with minor casting flaw near horns.
