Ancient Greek Bronze Coin in 14K Gold Pendant- Lot 11, Auction 8/20/2020

Greece, Caria, Myndos, ca. 200 to 100 BCE. AE 10. Obverse: Laureate head of Poseidon right. Reverse: artwork is unclear but it is most likely a dolphin with a trident based on similar coinage. Myndos was an ancient Dorian colony, located on the coast of Caria in Asia Minor. It had strong walls, the restored remains of which can be seen today, and a good harbor. The coin is set into a modern 14K gold pendant. Size: 1.375″ L x .75″ W (3.5 cm x 1.9 cm)
