Eastern Greek Greyware Pottery Pouring Vessel- Lot 320, Auction 8/26/2019

Eastern Greece, Hellenistic Anatolia, ca. 4th to 3rd century CE. An attractive pottery vessel with a bulbous body, a trefoil spout, and a trifurcated strap handle bridging back of spout to shoulder – all on a ring foot and presenting soft grey hues. Size: 3.875″ in diameter at widest point x 4.375″ H (9.8 cm x 11.1 cm)

Condition: Losses to rim of trefoil spout (with a small radiating fissure from it), ring base, and bottom as shown. Possible repaired probe hole on shoulder. Expected surface wear with scuffs and abraded areas commensurate with age. Nice mineral deposits.
