DescriptionAncient Oil Lamp from Roman North Africa, ca. 4th / 5th century A.D. Redware terracotta lamp, mold-made, with bust of Mercury (Hermes) within discus. There is a channel running between disc and nozzle, edges by ridges; shoulder decorated with palm frond design, raised circular base. 4-3/4", intact.
