DescriptionAt 5000 years old, one of the oldest vessels we have had the pleasure of handling! An interesting piece which is contemporary to the period of Troy I. A gray ware lidded jar, Western Anatolia, Yortan Culture, c.3000 - 2500 BC. This nice jar with a rounded body, three knob feet and two pierced lug handles for suspension. The entire piece is incised with vertical bands of geometric decoration, the lid with knob handle and incised triangles, pierced twice for attachment to body. 3-3/4"T. Intact and attractive.
