Pre-Columbian, Hispaniola, Greater Antilles Islands, Taino/ Arawak Indians, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. Gorgeous light green stone ceremonial dagger or scepter in the form of a stylized serpent or caiman with small folded arms below, large styled Zemi head with deep incised eyes, pointed nose, large toothy grimacing smile, raised nose and dimple atop the head. Lovely and rare example! Custom base. Size: 11" L (27.9 cm)

Condition: Intact and near choice with extremely minor abrasions to the surface and small pockmark on underside

Provenance: private Los Angeles County, California, USA collection, acquired in Dominican Republic over twenty years ago
