DescriptionPre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Ixtlan del Rio, ca. 200 BC – 250 AD. Pottery figure of a female vessel bearer holding a vessel in her right arm with detailed earrings, a large crown, polychrome dress and nose ring. Great geometric designs on her skirt and tunic. Remains of red, white yellow and black paint remain. Tattoos decorate her face outlining her toothy grin. Just over 10"H, appears intact, but much repair and restoration. Not perfect, but a nice example for the money - if perfect, would be a $2500+ piece.
