DescriptionAncient Pre-Columbian Single Spouted Jar, from the North Coast of Peru, Phase Moche III/IV, ca. 200 - 550 A.D. Redware pottery vessel, mold-made, slip painted buff and red, some burnishing, fired with some areas of flash causing black-gray marks. Features two warriors, one perhaps AiApec, attacking each other; both hold weapons in their hands, one holds an animal's head. Scene is repeated on both sides. 9"H, intact/excellent, save typical surface wear and pitting.
