Pre-Columbian, Peru, Inca, ca. 1200 to 1400 CE. Very large multicolor woven panel of classic Inca design consisting of 208 small rectangular panels, each containing four diagonal rows of semiabstract birds. Some with fish and several panels containing two vertical rows of birds. Each panel bordered with a multi-color step decoration. Professionally sewn to a brown linen backing on a wooden stretcher. A large and impressive example. Size: 97”L x 41”W.
