DescriptionA lovely and very unusual Inca textile tump-line, ca 1350 to 1500 AD. Woven of camelid fibers (llama wool or alpaca) using a very rare purple dye, plus red, brown and tan with central textile panel and cords to each side to attach to small pottery vessels. These were sued to carry loads using the forehead, thereby leaving the hands free. Frames measures 18" x 14". Custom framed, and looking marvelous as such!
