DescriptionFrom north-coastal Peru, ca. 1100 to 1400 A.D. Ancient pottery bridge / stirrup spouted vessel from the Chancay culture with twin drum-shaped vessels connected by a strap handle. Atop the left drum sits a small bird with whistle in its head, spout emerging from the right side. Painted in deep brown and tan with whistle fully functioning with very sweet sound. 8-1/2"H x 8-1/2"W x 2-5/8"D, wear to pigment on right side of vessel and repair to spout, else very good condition. A nice example for the money.
