Near East - Bronze Age

The Bronze Age was a period in the development of technology when metals were first used regularly in the manufacture of tools and weapons. The earliest use of cast metal can be deduced from clay models of weapons; casting was certainly established in the Middle East by 3500 B.C.

Cypriot copper and bronze working was relatively modest in the Early and Middle Bronze Ages, and metalsmiths manufactured a limited range of types, including tools, weapons, and personal objects such as pins and razors.
